Essential to its mission of promoting policy-level environmental sustainability and social upliftment is the need for PURSUES to gather first-hand data at the grassroots. PURSUES is involved in community development activities such as providing technical assistance to people’s organizations. It has recently assisted Kidlaw Bauko Multipurpose Cooperative, Inc. in its registration with the Cooperative Development Authority. PURSUES is currently organizing an agro-forestry development cooperative that aims to produce alamid coffee and muscovado in Mt. Province; and, an urban credit cooperative composed of family members of OFWs that intends to pursue “good” and diverse but secure financial investment strategies. In these grassroots activities, PURSUES gathers general information along commonly accepted development indicators.
